He speaks! (with a white board) -vl

Editor's note: Vic is up and sitting in a chair and asked for his white board. He sat over there writing and writing and writing, and then he called me over and showed me this:

In case you can't quite see it, it says (with minor edits for clarity):

  • 4 days in ICU: ICU people are awesome
  • Supposed to move to "not dead yet" floor today
  • Worst part: trach tube
  • It makes an annoying noise, and it's sore
  • It sometimes sounds like Jumanji drums
  • Wifey perfect
That last bit is the real reason I included the picture, so you would all know I didn't make that up. Plus the white board is what qualifies this as a -vl post. In his own words!

Now I am hearing the drums in my head... I still have no voice for the record. I am glad he gets to go to the "not dead yet floor!"

Nothing better than a Python reference to prove you're on the mend. Go, Vic, go! And the last part - really goes without saying (but glad Vic did).

So glad to hear that all the professional medical folk give you a gold star for doing so much better than expected!! The regular hospital floors where ICU folks get to move to if they're doing well is always so much quieter than busy ICU. Other perks include you can get flowers, see dogs, feel a little more relaxed because you've progressed from needing to be watched over just in case, and I'm sure there are many other perks .... Hey, the Rockies won so things are looking up!
